The verse
IN THE BEGINNING GOD
“…created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.”
Genesis 1:1–3
Before there was anything to argue about, there was a word, and then there was light.
Everything that still matters begins the same way - order spoken into the formless, light into the dark.
In the beginning, God. The first line, and the one the rest depends on.

Before you order
Made to order asks a little patience. Here is what that means, in plain words.
Everything else lives on the FAQ page.
Why does it take 2 to 3 days before it ships?
We print nothing until you ask for it. Those 2 to 3 working days are the print, and they are the reason there is no crate of last season's belief waiting to be discounted.
Full answer on the FAQ pageIt doesn't fit. What happens now?
Consumers in the EU, the EEA and the United Kingdom have 14 days from receiving the order to withdraw, then order the right size. There is no exchange, because there is no shelf to swap from, so Find My Size on this page runs the arithmetic against the real measurement chart before you buy.
Returns and right of withdrawalWill the print crack or fade in the wash?
Wash it cold or at 30°C, inside out, and hang it dry. No tumble dryer, and never iron on the print. The dryer kills a print faster than the wash does, so skip it and the print outlives the season that made you want it.
Full answer on the FAQ pageWhen is it at my door?
Europe and the UK, 6 to 10 working days in most countries; the US, Canada and Australia, 7 to 12; the rest of the world, 10 to 30. Some countries are faster or slower, and the shipping page shows your country. Production runs 2 to 3 working days on top of that, and customs, weather and public holidays move the estimate.
Shipping times by countryWho pays if I send it back?
Return postage is yours, and a faulty or wrong item is on us. We print one piece for one person and have no shelf to collect for, so tell us at info@thwrd.com within your 14 days and we refund within 14 days of that, including the standard outbound shipping you paid.

What does the In the Beginning God shirt say?
It reads IN THE BEGINNING GOD with Genesis 1:1–3, the first lines of the Bible, where God creates the heavens and the earth and says, “Let there be light.”
What does Genesis 1:1–3 mean?
Before anything else existed, God was there. He created the heavens and the earth, and into a dark, formless world He spoke light. Everything that follows depends on that first line.
How heavy is the In the Beginning God tee?
It is 260 gsm, a heavyweight tee in 100% combed cotton that is tie-dyed, washed and pre-shrunk. That is a little denser than the 240 gsm Black & White edition of this verse. The fabric guide compares every weight we make.
Is the In the Beginning God t-shirt oversized?
Yes, oversized and boxy with dropped shoulders, and true to size from S to 2XL. Laid flat, an L measures 60 cm (23.6 in) chest by 74 cm (29.1 in) length. He is 6'2 and wears L. She is 5'6 and wears S.
Does In the Beginning God come as a hoodie or in white?
Yes, both. The Black Faded Hoodie carries the same verse in 400 gsm fleece. A Black & White tee in black or white, front or back print, is in the Black & White collection.
What is The Word?
The Word is a faith-rooted streetwear brand from Denmark. Heavyweight combed cotton, declarative typography, words drawn from scripture. The garment is the medium, never the meaning. It states what you serve without asking anything of the person reading it.
