Terms of Service

The Word is a brand operated by Plastiik v/Thomas Finn Larsen, a sole proprietorship registered in Denmark (CVR 21673838, VAT no. DK21673838), Mathildevej 24, 4. th., 2000 Frederiksberg, Denmark. Contact: info@thwrd.com. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “the Word” refer to this business. By visiting thwrd.com or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Our products

Every piece is made to order - printed once, for you, after you order. Garment colours and print may vary slightly from screen to screen. Product imagery is art-directed and may include AI-generated or computer-rendered scenes; it illustrates the design and never misrepresents the garment you receive. See our Imagery statement.

2. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in the currency selected at checkout. Prices shown to customers in the EU include VAT. Elsewhere, tax is not included. Import charges are not included and may be collected on delivery. Shipping is calculated at checkout. We may correct obvious pricing errors and decline or cancel an order affected by such an error, refunding any amount paid. Payment is taken at the time of order through the providers shown at checkout.

3. Delivery

We make each piece after you order it. Production typically takes 2 to 3 working days. The delivery window for your country is shown on our shipping page and before you pay. By placing the order you agree to that window as the delivery time. In a few countries it is longer than 30 days. Where the shipping page shows "On request", we agree the window with you by e-mail before you order. If we cannot deliver within the agreed window, we tell you, and you may cancel the order for a full refund. Your statutory rights on late delivery are not affected. Risk of loss or damage passes to you when you, or a carrier you appointed (other than one we offered), take physical possession of the goods.

4. Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) or the United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days run from the day you, or someone you asked to receive it, take possession of the goods. If your order arrives in more than one parcel, the period runs from the day you receive the last parcel. Standard designs in standard sizes are always covered.

To exercise the right, tell us clearly before the period ends, by email to info@thwrd.com or through our withdrawal function. You may use the model withdrawal form, but you do not have to. You then send the goods back within 14 days of telling us. You bear the direct cost of return shipping. We print one piece for one person and have no shelf to collect for, so we cannot cover the trip back.

We refund no later than 14 days after you tell us you withdraw. We may hold the refund until we have the goods back, or proof that you sent them, whichever comes first. We refund to the payment method you used, including the standard outbound shipping you paid. If you withdraw from part of an order, we refund those items. The standard outbound shipping is refunded when the whole order is withdrawn. You can also withdraw before we ship. Then we refund in full at once.

Handle the goods as you would in a shop. We may deduct for loss in value caused by handling that goes beyond that. Full terms, deductions for diminished value, the model withdrawal form and the refund process are set out in our Returns & Right of Withdrawal policy.

5. Faulty goods and your statutory rights

Goods must match their description and be of satisfactory quality. As a consumer you have a statutory right to complain over defects under the Danish Sale of Goods Act (and equivalent EU rules) for at least two years from delivery, and longer in some countries, for example the UK. If an item is faulty, flawed or not what you ordered, contact info@thwrd.com and we will repair, replace or refund as the law requires, at no cost to you. These rights stand on top of, and are never limited by, anything in these terms.

6. Intellectual property and acceptable use

All content on thwrd.com - designs, prints, text, imagery and marks - belongs to us or our licensors and may not be copied, resold or used commercially without written permission. You agree not to misuse the site, attempt to disrupt it, or use it for any unlawful purpose. You may use purchased garments for personal, non-infringing use.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection law. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. Your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

8. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Danish law, without depriving you of the protection of mandatory rules in your country of residence. If we cannot resolve a complaint, you may contact:

• Denmark: Nævnenes Hus, Center for Klageløsning / Forbrugerklagenævnet, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, Denmark - naevneneshus.dk.
• EU, EEA and UK: you can also use an approved alternative dispute-resolution body in your own country. We take part where the law requires it.
• Germany: we are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle) under the VSBG, but will always try to resolve any issue directly.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force at the time of your order applies to that order. The current version is always published here.

Change history

• 30 September 2026: changed section 3, Delivery. Before, it said we deliver no later than 30 days after the order, unless otherwise agreed. That fixed limit is removed. Now the delivery window for your country is shown on our shipping page and before you pay, and by placing the order you accept that window as the delivery time. In a few countries the window is longer than 30 days. Where the shipping page shows "On request", we agree the window with you by e-mail before you order. If we cannot deliver within the agreed window, you may cancel for a full refund. Also added the change history, a short introduction and a "Good to know" box at the top with four points from these terms, and made the wording in section 5 clearer, with no change to your rights.
• 12 to 13 September 2026: on 12 September, section 4 extended the right of withdrawal to the EEA (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) and the United Kingdom. It now says the 14 days run from the day you receive the goods (the last parcel, if there are several), that you can withdraw before we ship, that we refund no later than 14 days after you tell us you withdraw, how part of an order is refunded, and how to handle the goods. It no longer excludes personalised items in this section; it says standard designs in standard sizes are always covered. Section 5 changed from two years to at least two years for complaints over defects, and longer in some countries. On 13 September, section 2 changed: prices shown to customers in the EU include VAT, tax is not included elsewhere, and import charges may be collected on delivery. Section 8 now names Nævnenes Hus in Viborg as the Danish complaints body and adds alternative dispute resolution in your own country. The date on the page was changed on 13 September.
