Your 14-day right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) or the United Kingdom, you may withdraw from your purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days run from the day you, or someone you asked to receive it, take possession of the goods. If your order arrives in more than one parcel, the period runs from the day you receive the last parcel.

Tell us clearly before the 14 days are up, by email to info@thwrd.com or through our withdrawal function. You may use the model withdrawal form at the bottom of this page, but you do not have to.

You can also withdraw before we ship. Then we refund in full at once. Write to info@thwrd.com as soon as you know.

How returns work

Send the piece back within 14 days of telling us you are withdrawing, to: The Word / Plastiik v/Thomas Finn Larsen, Mathildevej 24, 4. th., 2000 Frederiksberg, Denmark.

Return postage is yours. We print one piece for one person and have no shelf to collect for, so we cannot cover the trip back.

If you send from the United Kingdom, Norway, Iceland or Switzerland, mark the parcel “returned goods” so no import duty is charged on our side. Duty charged to us for a return is deducted from the refund.

If you do not collect a parcel, and do not withdraw within 14 days of the first delivery attempt, we treat the return as a withdrawal. We then deduct the return postage the carrier charges us.

Loss of value

Handle the piece as you would in a shop: unfold it, try it on, look at the print. If you go further, for example wear it out, wash it or damage the print, we may deduct the loss in value from your refund. We never deduct for trying it on. Keep the tags on if you can, it makes the return simpler, but a removed tag on its own is not a deduction.

Your refund

We refund no later than 14 days after you tell us you withdraw. We may hold the refund until we have the goods back, or proof that you sent them, whichever comes first. We refund to the payment method you used, including the standard outbound shipping you paid.

If you withdraw from part of an order, we refund those items. The standard outbound shipping is refunded when the whole order is withdrawn.

If you are outside those countries

The 14-day withdrawal right comes from European and British law, and it applies to orders placed there. Outside those countries, including Switzerland, we do not take a piece back because you changed your mind. Nothing sits on a shelf here. Your piece was printed for you after you ordered it.

Choose your size before you order, not after. Find My Size sits on every product page and runs the arithmetic against the real measurement chart. Everything is true to size. Between sizes? Slim build, size down. Broad build, size up.

What does not change, anywhere in the world: if your order arrives with a faulty item, or an item that differs from what you ordered, we replace it or make it right.

Exchanges

There is no swap, because there is no shelf to swap from. If you need another size and you are inside the 14-day window, withdraw from the order and place a new one. Write to info@thwrd.com and we will run both halves in one go, so you are not waiting on us twice.

What we cannot take back

Truly personalised pieces, anything carrying your own text, name or image, made for you alone, cannot be returned, as they cannot be resold. Standard designs from our catalogue, in standard sizes, are always covered by the right of withdrawal above.

If something is wrong with your order

A faulty item, or an item that differs from what you ordered, is on us. Write to info@thwrd.com and we will replace it or make it right. Your statutory right to complain about faulty goods stands. It runs for at least two years, and longer in some countries, for example the United Kingdom. This stands on top of that right and never replaces it.

Change history

• 30 September 2026: added this section and the change history. The short version now sits at the top of the page as "Good to know", with the same four points. Changed the size advice: before, it said to take the smaller of two sizes; now it says slim build, size down; broad build, size up.
• 12 September 2026: aligned the right of withdrawal with our Terms of Service. It names the EEA (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) and says the 14 days run from the day you receive the goods, or the last parcel if there are several. You tell us first, then send the piece back within 14 days, and return postage is yours. Added: you can withdraw before we ship and get a full refund at once. Switzerland is named as outside the right of withdrawal. Returns from the United Kingdom, Norway, Iceland or Switzerland must be marked "returned goods", and duty charged to us is deducted from the refund. A parcel you do not collect, without a withdrawal within 14 days of the first delivery attempt, is treated as a withdrawal, and we deduct the return postage the carrier charges us. A new section on loss of value: trying the piece on is never deducted, and a removed tag on its own is not a deduction. Refund timing changed: we now refund no later than 14 days after you tell us you withdraw (before, within 14 days after we received the goods or proof of return), and a part-order withdrawal refunds those items.
